Pieter Peulen

Pieter Peulen (1993) is an interior and furniture designer based in Belgium. A solution thinker that likes to keep it simple. In addition to his various interests, he creates a huge fan base thanks to his blog, Hardwearing. He is a multi-tasking designer and also suggests photography, graphic design, art direction as well as social media.

His most popular creation is certainly the hybrid bed-desk frame which he created to help students make the most of small living spaces. He got inspired during his time in school while living in student dorms, to come up with a better solution for living in tight situations.

Flexit is a two-element structure made up of two vertical frames and one horizontal one, whereas the horizontal one allows for a standard board to fit into it creating a desk or a place to hold a mattress.

The horizontal frame can be set at three different levels – as a bed, a desk, or as a bunk bed. You can connect the two elements together to create more options or separate them and put them in different parts of the dorm room. The possibilities are endless, which is quite practical seeing how not all dorm rooms are the same size.

To add to its functionality, Flexit has accessories, like a nightstand, a shelf, a mirror, and baskets. They easily attach with clips letting you move them around anywhere. Besides being flexible, it’s easy to install and lightweight. It only takes about 20 minutes to put together and personalize.
